Equinox top tips

  • Stay hydrated, drink to thirst and consider adding electrolytes to your water.
  • Keep your body cool - wear a light loose-fitting top, sunscreen and a cap to keep the heat directly off your head.
  • Start slow and steady your pace - for every 5 degree increase in temperature, your miles should be 20 - 30 seconds slower.
  • Pay attention to how you feel through the run rather than focusing on your timings.

If you start to feel sluggish or your skin turns cool and clammy, start walking and find some shade. These can be early signs of heat exhaustion and it's important to not try and push through and seek medical attention. 

On race day, there will be two showers along the route to help cool you down too delete too at mile 7.75 and mile 10.5.

The water stations will be located at miles 3.5, 5, 7, 8, 10.5 and there will be a can of water in your goody bag too. The exact locations of the water, showers and medical points can be viewed here.

Don't forget - it its hot on race day, steady your pace and enjoy all the activations which are lined up along the route.
