JustGiving's Top Ten Tips for setting up a successful fundraising page
1. ADD A PHOTO
Fundraisers with pictures on their page raise a whopping 14% more per photo. What better excuse for a #selfie!
2. TELL YOUR PERSONAL STORY
What does your cause mean to you? Tell your supporters what inspired you to start fundraising.
3. SHOOT FOR A TARGET
Pages with a fundraising target raise 46% more. Don’t be afraid to aim high!
4. DON'T BE AFRAID TO SHARE
You’ve got to spread the word! Share your fundraising page on social media to draw in donations.
5. DON'T FORGET ABOUT EMAIL
There are lots of your friends, colleagues and neighbours who don’t use social media but would love to hear about your fundraising!
6. BE CREATIVE
Don’t be afraid to think outside the box! Think of interesting ways to get people excited about your fundraising. Why not promise to take on the half marathon in fancy dress, if you hit a big donation milestone?
7. LET THE CHARITY KNOW
Tell the charity you’re fundraising for - they might be able to help you spread the word. They may share your story to their social media pages and through email – getting more eyes on your page!
8. LINK YOUR PAGE TO STRAVA or FitBit
Connect your JustGiving page with your Strava or Fitbit account to automatically share your miles, pictures and training routes with your supporters. Show your donors just how committed you are!
9. ENCOURAGE OTHERS
Got friends who’d be up for a challenge? Convince them to join you on your fundraising journey. Get together for a cause you all love!
10. IT'S NOT OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER
A huge 20% of donations come in AFTER an event has ended. After the big day, follow up with a celebratory social media post about how you did!
