We are proud to partner with The Richard Whitehead Foundation who enable disabled people’s ambitions through the power of movement. They support people of all ages and abilities to improve their wellbeing, physical and mental health by breaking down barriers to accessing sporting events, opportunities and activities. They achieve this by delivering inclusive projects, funded and supported by Nissan, and collaborating with event organisers like the LLHM to enable every individual to take part, grow in confidence, and reach their full potential.
They understand that for many disabled people, entering a mass participation event can feel daunting. Whether you are facing physical, logistical, or confidence-related barriers, through their Supported Runner Project, they can support you to feel confident, safe, and included.
ALLOCATING YOU A GUIDE OR SUPPORT RUNNER
If you need a support or guide runner to take part in the 2027 London Landmarks Half Marathon, the Richard Whitehead Foundation can assist you in finding one and we will provide them with a complimentary place.
To be matched with a support or guide runner:
- Complete the registration form on the Richard Whitehead Foundation website.
- Once your form has been submitted, a Project Officer from the Richard Whitehead Foundation will notify the LLHM Customer Service Team that you have requested a support or guide runner.
- The Project Officer will review your request within 10 working days and will confirm whether a complimentary place can be allocated.
- If a place is available, the Project Officer will discuss your support needs with you and, from 6 months before event day they will match you with a suitable support or guide runner.
Once you have been introduced to your support or guide runner you are encouraged to stay in regular contact in the lead-up to the event. On race day, your support or guide runner will be there every step of the way, helping to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and successful experience.
Please note:
- Completing the registration form does not guarantee a support or guide runner place.
- All requests are subject to complimentary places being available.
- All support/guide runners need to be registered and confirmed on our system by 12pm on 15 January 2027.
If you have any questions about the Supported Runner Programme, please contact Katie Toulmin at The Richard Whitehead Foundation.
